Is It Still Old Fashion?

I was thinking about my childhood and how disciplined I use to be, and I wonder what my parents did to make me so well-behaved. Maybe it was the constant lectures that I got to always push myself to be the best. Maybe it was the multiple rule that I was instructed to abide by in order to have a respected life. I believe the reason for my behavior was the form of discipline I was given: Spankings.

When I was younger I was disciplined for my wrong actions. My parents would do this so that I would be aware of the harm and danger of what I did. They spanked me so that I would know that what I did was not right and that I should not continue doing it. I believe that my parents did not overdue it. In some cases parents either do it too much or too little. They tend to overdue the spankings, which leads to abuse, or they do it too little and the child does not obey them because of the lack of persistence to that discipline.

I think that spanking is one of the best things you can do for children these days. I do not think that it should be done excessively, or not done enough. I think that part of the reason for the increase of children's behavior is because of the lack of discipline as a child. I had a friend in school that was never disciplined as a child and is now very disrespectful to her parents. I'm not saying that is the method of getting all children to obey their parents, but I do think for most children it is effective. What do you think?
